The space Asbury, NJ is a lovely small town in New Jersey. Within minutes of the lodge are some fantastic restaurants and shopping, as well as numerous country/ farm tours and nature walks. The lodge itself is located on an 100% organic and fully functioning cattle farm. We often host catered farm to table dinners at the Lodge (although not included in the overnight price!). Fishing River Valley has private access to just under two miles of prime Musconetcong River, also known as the "Muskie". There are nine defined pools along our stretch. Stream side paths lead an angler from pool to pool, or you can choose to wade down the river and fish the plentiful pocket water and riffles that often hold trout. Members and their guests can expect to routinely catch rainbow, brown, and brook trout - one of the few fisheries where these three species live alongside one another. We also stock the occasional tiger trout - just to keep it interesting! In the colder months, streamers and nymphing are the game. Once the temperature starts to rise, the hatches here are unlike anywhere else in New Jersey. Sulphurs, caddis, and variant mayfly hatches will keep a dry fly angler shaking at the vice in our fly tying room! Our nine private fishing pools thrive in part to our support of local resource groups. These groups enhance the fishery, the river itself, and the surrounding land upon which a healthy fishery thrives. Our members find this to be one of the Lodge’s greatest assets. We also conduct several stocking supplements each season and all fishing is fly only and 100% catch and release. Guest access The member's locker room will be locked, but all other parts are open for guest use! Unfortunately not everyone is prepared for nature and a small chipmunk we feed walnuts by feeders ran through the walk way and was mistaken for a rodent and another group had attempted to throw an undisclosed party which became about WiFi once reported to AirBnb which affected our rating. Also Wifi, is subject to repairs by our local providers, therefore we do not guarantee Wifi will be completely continuous. It is DSL so it does occasion have interruptions in service. We aim to always give 5 star please understand the home is set in nature so spotty WiFi Birds chirping, chipmunks skipping along come with the territory so please be cautious of the sounds and feel of nature while being so close to the city!

Our grandchildren have negotiated the steep hill several times but it is challenging. There is a boat launch area right across the river on the PA side, just a few minutes away. But there are also numerous areas with river access on both the NJ and PA sides very close by. There are railroad tracks that run up the river and in front of our home. The stone cottage sits on an acre of beautiful land sloping down toward the private dock on Paulinskill Lake in Stillwater, NJ. Only an hour and 15 minutes away from Manhattan (with an easy bus or train commute), it features a sun room facing the lake, a tiny, stand-alone cabin for writing or reading, and a large lawn and firepit overlooking the lake. Inside, there are two big bedrooms, one upstairs for at least two kids, and another downstairs with a queen bed and a changing room. A third, smaller bedroom has a trundle bed and a closet. The kitchen and bathroom are newly renovated, with a new stove, washer and dryer, dishwasher, and a new whirlpool soaking tub. If it gets cold, the house is fully heated and features a wood pellet stove and a stone fireplace. The wifi works beautifully and is extremely quick. Outside, take out the kayaks, relax or fish from the shaded dock, play tennis or basketball at the lake association courts, go for a long bike ride on the rail trail, dive off the dock or swim at the beach with lifeguards, and rinse off in the new outdoor shower. There is so much to do, it's really a fun place to be in the summer. We can't make it out there this summer, but we want to make sure someone takes full advantage of our cottage. We are looking for long-term stays of at least a week or longer. Rates are negotiable.

In the 1920s a dam was constructed across the Paulins Kill river to create a narrow 3-mile long body of water, Paulinskill Lake, that stretches from Hampton Township in the north to Stillwater Township south. The lake and resulting community was constructed in response to the 1914 establishment of Swartswood State Park, to provide seasonal housing and recreation for vacationers from the New York metropolitan area. This four bedroom historic lakefront house sits on a bluff overlooking Lake Hopatcong and the historic Sailing Yacht Club. This house includes accommodation for 8 people comfortably. The deck includes a gas fire pit, a grill and seating for outdoor dining. Guests can swim off the small landing or the dock. Boats are available for rental at several of the marinas around the lake. The dark is set up for mooring. The property also includes one tandem kayak, one stand up paddleboard and multiple floating devices. There is also an outdoor swing and a hammock as well as a hot tub. The house is well located on the main lake and has commanding views. The kitchen and the downstairs bathroom have recently been upgraded and renovated. It has a rustic vibe with antiques and yet feels quite modern. You will arrive from a winding road to a u-shape driveway. The side entrance will bring you into the fully stocked kitchen. Brand new stainless steal appliances for cooking. Walk pass the kitchen into a quaint dining room with a modern, working wood burning stove. A unique, one-of-a-kind, rustic dining room table will be perfect for a dinner part of 8+. While you are enjoying your dinner you can take in the view of the Lake as the living room and sitting area are aligned with glass windows. This room has many small amazing details that make it very charming. In the winter you can cozy up in the living room in front of the fire place with a nice glass of wine and a good book. In the summer you can walk right through the sliding glass doors and enjoy the gorgeous lake view with the newly designed porch. Comfortable furniture and hammocks are placed in the perfect sitting positions. We do have a shower outside and YES, it makes a day of swimming and sun bathing in the lake a 'must do'. Right next store to the master is a queen size bed with sliding glass doors to the same deck. Both have stunning views of peace and serenity. In the front of the 2nd floor is one additional queen size bed with a more secluded feeling. One office and the main bathroom are also on this floor. If you want to watch a great movie or play some pool, the attic is fully remodeled, high ceiling and perfect for adults and kids to enjoy. The added sun roofs make the room feel opened and not so much like an attic. The Lake is perfect for swimming, boating, water skiing and jet skiing. We have a nice, large deck right on the lake with a boat house attached. You can enjoy a nice lunch on the deck or sun bathe and relax. Our patio furniture is comfortable and nice. This house is filled with love and many memories and is great for a couple, a larger family and/or a group of great friends. We are about 5-8 minutes from food shopping and a small town. The Lake House offers spacious bedrooms, beautiful landscaping, brand new 50 Ft dock and large lakeside deck/seating, wood burning fireplace, game room, fully equipped kitchen, new hot tub right on the lake, swimming, fishing/ice fishing, and close to restaurants and bars. The property is lovely all four seasons a year. Great for a family vacation, gathering of responsible friends, special occasion, business travel or a romantic get-away. The meticulous landscaping offers many varieties of ornamental shrubs and flowers. We think you will agree that this is one of the best locations on the lake in the deep water Davis Cove amidst the multimillion dollar historic estate homes. There are three spacious bedrooms upstairs including our large master bedroom with a comfy king size bed, sliders that open to a balcony, and stunning views of the lake even as you lay in bed. Bedroom #2 features charming antique furniture and a full-size bed. Bedroom #3 has two very comfortable single beds. There is one full bath upstairs and also a new washer and dryer (detergent and bleach provided). Additional comforters and blankets are provided. Bath towels will be put out on all the beds when you check in. A covered front porch leads to the main level. The open floor-plan on the main level offers a fully appointed kitchen with with microwave, dishwasher, toaster, two coffee machines (a drip and a Keurig), gas range/oven, wine cooler and higher quality cookware/cutlery/ accessories (I.e., Wustoff Professional knives, Caphalon cookware, etc.). The main living area has a large wood burning fireplace (wood is included), 55" HDTV Smart TV with Blu-Ray DVD (I have provided a Blue Ray DVD library), a Netflix account for use by guests and internet access, all the premium movie channels and premium on demand movies and a Bluetooth sound system that will play music off your smart phone. Free high speed WiFi is available all around the house, deck and dock. The main level also features a full bath and a 4th bedroom if you need it with a trundle bed that sleeps 1 to 2. The dining table comfortably seats 6-8 with 3 more seats at the kitchen counter. There is a spacious deck off sliders that overlooks the lake with a table/chairs/lounge and a high quality Weber Genesis gas BBQ grill purchased in 2016 (available for our guests). A walk out game room (Shelti professional tournament quality Foosball table, board games, card table) is on the lower level which is also equipped with a small kitchen and a half bathroom. A few more steps down and you are on a large 50x20 Ft. deck right on the water which features a sofa, chairs, umbrellas and a guest favorite - a newer 4 person Signature Spa hot tub . The 50ft dock is perfect for fishing or you can tie-up your own boat or jet ski (or rent one from the many marinas on the lake OR you can rent my boat through Boatbound or Boatsetter). A staircase leads down into the water for swimming in the largely sand bottomed lake. We can provide flotation devises, swim rafts, water-skis and a 3-4 man towable tube with all the riggings. Bring water shoes, particularly for the kids. Bring your own Kayak or you can use our Kayaks - one is a 14 ft. Necky Maribou for more experienced paddlers and one is a high end fiberglass Hurricane Skimmer 116 sit-on-top which is perfect for novices and kids. And don't forget your fishing poles - Lake Hopatcong is one of prime freshwater fisheries on the East Coast. Guest have access to the whole house except for three locked storage areas, one on each level. There is parking for 3-4 cars maximuim. In warm months, our boat may be docked there and its off limits.. although there is ample room for a boat or PWC if you bring your own or rent one. If you want to rent my Sea Ray 180 Sport stern drive motorboat, I can tell you how to go on Boatbound / Boatsetter where you can rent it... its cheaper and far more convenient than the local marinas... but like the marinas, you must have an experienced boat pilot in your party. I can provide a 3-4 man tube for lake tubing and I also have waterskis. Bob, your host, lives in the area and are available to assist you to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Also ask about my other rental on the lake if you wish to coordinate the stay of larger parties across the two houses. Both of my lake rentals are rated #1 and #2 in the whole NNJ market based on guest reviews! I take a lot of pride in hosting and strive to do both the big things and little things that will make your stay memorable. Bob will stop by a couple times a week to test the hot tub, water the many potted plants (warm months) and check to see if there is anything you need. I prefer to personally hand-over the keys at check-in and explain the amenities of the house and home safety. All guests must be announced. The Area: Deep-water Davis Cove is one of the nicest spots on Lake Hopatcong with 180 degrees lake views. The Lake itself has a long and rich history, discovered by the Lenape Indians 14,000 years ago, this was the chic destination for New York actors and socialites at the turn of the century and the roaring 20s. Today, the Lake is knows as the largest in New Jersey with 43 miles of shoreline and is very popular for fishing, water sports and restaurant-hopping via boat. Our home is on a quiet side street with little traffic and the neighborhood is perfect for walking, running with side roads and hills. There are numerous restaurants in the vicinity and also all around the lake. Getting Around: 10 minutes from NJ Transit stop in Landing and 15 min from I-80. One hour from NYC and two hours from Philly. Again, there are many restaurants and bars all around the lake and several restaurants and convenience stores within 15 min walk. Other Things to Note: Off-street parking is limited to 3-4 cars and if you are expecting any visitors who are NOT part of the guest number in your reservation, you must discuss with Bob.
